Bigfoot Rocking The RV

Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch is back with a disturbing report of increased activity across the Kenai Peninsula before turning to a recent encounter involving Marty and her grandson, Doug, near Alaska’s remote McCarthy Road.

The trouble began when electrical problems forced their RV off the dirt road near an old single-lane bridge dating back to 1910. While Marty remained inside the vehicle, Doug walked toward the bridge to record the scenery with his new iPhone. The forest suddenly went completely silent. Moments later, an explosive scream tore through the valley with enough force to make Doug drop the phone into a steep ravine.Looking toward a nearby bluff, Doug spotted an enormous humanoid figure standing above the road. He estimated it was more than ten feet tall.

As the figure began moving in the direction of the stranded RV, Doug rushed back to warn his grandmother.Marty had already begun hearing pebbles and larger rocks striking the outside of the camper. Overcome by an intense sense of danger, she looked outside and saw a massive dark figure near the vehicle.

Fearing it was preparing to attack, she loaded a shotgun and waited inside while the impacts continued. A local family eventually arrived and confirmed that they had also seen what they believed was a Bigfoot. As they attempted to help Marty and Doug leave the area, rocks were thrown into the bed of their truck.

During the escape, Marty caught another glimpse of the figure shaking trees and unleashing powerful vocalizations from the timber. What began as a routine mechanical problem had left them stranded beside an isolated Alaskan bridge with something enormous closing in from the wilderness.

Dogman & The Deer Hunter

Brian welcomes Mark from Michigan to share a lifetime of unsettling encounters involving Sasquatch, Dogman, and other unexplained activity. Mark’s story begins around the age of ten, when his father reported seeing a tall, long-haired figure near the family farm and something began tapping on the windows at night.

Years later, while deer hunting near a cornfield, Mark encountered an enormous gunmetal-gray Sasquatch accompanied by an overpowering odor of rotting meat and skunk. The woods suddenly went silent, nearby animals reacted strangely, and the experience left him with recurring nightmares that caused him to abandon the rest of the hunting season.

Mark also describes discovering large X formations, teepee-like wood structures, unusual tracks, clicking sounds, unexplained lights, and a rock deliberately placed on top of a stump.

During one turkey hunt, something attempted to imitate his barred owl call before a large figure appeared to peek at him from behind a tree. The encounters did not stop with Sasquatch. Mark recounts seeing a massive bipedal canine creature, finding unusual doglike tracks, observing glowing eyes near his home, and encountering an abnormally large black coyote-like animal that he could not bring himself to shoot. He also discovered several deer that had been opened and gutted without any of the meat being taken.

Brian and Mark examine why witnesses often remain silent, whether these creatures are undiscovered flesh-and-blood animals or connected to something far stranger, and why an intelligent being might deliberately allow itself to be seen. Mark also explains why he believes researchers should approach these subjects with patience, respect, and as little intrusion as possible.

Bigfoot Damaged The Shed

Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube channel is back with three unsettling reports from remote Alaska. The first two occurred independently on the Fourth of July along the same long stretch of road on the Kenai Peninsula near Soldotna.

Traveling from opposite directions, Leslie and Rusty each reported seeing a large figure step into the roadway. Rusty, who was towing a trailer, claimed he watched the figure strike a spruce grouse onto the pavement, retrieve the bird, glance toward the approaching traffic, and disappear into the timber.Fred then shares a far more aggressive encounter from the winter of 1987.

John Sr. and John Jr. were traveling by snowmachine to a relative’s isolated cabin near the Mulchatna caribou herd when they noticed a massive, humanlike figure covered in hair. The creature reportedly threw objects, watched the hunters through a cabin window, damaged the generator shed, and destroyed an exterior light. After darkness fell, something began pounding against the cabin walls. At first light, the two men abandoned the cabin and headed for home.

The figure allegedly followed them near the trail, forcing the hunters to fire warning shots as they escaped across the snow. When they later told their relatives what had happened, the damage around the cabin offered physical support for at least part of their story.

Fred also explores why reports of the “hairy man” are often treated very differently in isolated Alaskan communities, where encounters with unknown figures in the wilderness may be accepted as part of life rather than dismissed as folklore.

I Thought They Were Gonna Kill Me: Part II

Mike returns for the conclusion of his 1982 Oregon campground encounter, picking up with two sets of reflective eyes watching him from the darkness near a picnic table. At first, he assumes he is dealing with deer, wolves, or some other familiar animal and repeatedly tries to scare them away.

But as his flashlight begins to fade and he moves closer, the shapes refuse to behave like anything he recognizes.Standing only twelve to fourteen feet away, Mike watches one figure rise to an estimated height of more than eight feet. Moments later, he notices an even larger presence beside a tree, with its eyes appearing nearly eleven feet above the ground.

He searches for antlers, ears, a muzzle, or any other feature that might explain what he is seeing, but nothing fits. Instead of running, Mike talks to the figures, throws rocks, sings “Kumbaya,” and eventually holds out an apple into the darkness. Something large and covered in hair gently takes it from his hand.

The next morning, Mike measures the surrounding trees and branches to confirm the heights he witnessed. Even then, he does not immediately call the creatures Bigfoot. It is not until 2009, after hearing a similar encounter discussed on a podcast, that he begins connecting this night with several other unexplained experiences from his past.

Looking back, Mike says the most disturbing realization is not simply what may have been standing beside him, but how completely defenseless he would have been had the encounter turned violent.

I Thought They Were Gonna Kill Me: Part I

Mike’s 1982 Oregon Bigfoot Encounter: Part 1

In this episode, Brian welcomes Mike from New York for the first part of a terrifying encounter that has stayed with him for more than forty years. Mike begins by explaining how the Patterson-Gimlin film first sparked his interest in Bigfoot before taking us back to 1982, when he was traveling alone through Oregon on his way toward Crater Lake. After following a rough Forest Service road deep into the woods, Mike discovers two freshly fallen trees blocking the only way forward. Overcome by an intense and unexplainable sense of fear, he spends nearly ninety minutes cutting through roots and branches to clear a path.

He eventually reaches an isolated, long-neglected campsite, where he sets up his tent, builds a fire, and settles in for the night.Another family later arrives nearby, lighting a massive bonfire and openly carrying a revolver. Not long after dark, something Mike assumes is a bear begins sniffing around his tent. When it presses close, he punches it through the fabric.

Then the vocalizations begin.Soft, whispered “moo moo” sounds drift through the darkness and are answered by strange “bloop bloop” calls from another direction. The exchanges grow louder and more aggressive, followed by rock clacking and a powerful whoop so intense that Mike feels it strike his chest and cause the walls of his tent to billow inward. When Mike finally shouts into the darkness, everything goes silent. Moments later, the sounds begin again.

Heavy footsteps approach the tent as though something is challenging him to come outside, forcing Mike to abandon camp and run for his car. When he reaches the other family’s campsite, he finds it completely empty, their fire extinguished, and no sign of where they went. But instead of driving away, Mike makes a decision that could put him directly in the path of whatever is surrounding the campground.

Be sure to come back Sunday for Part 2.

Sasquatch Unleashed: Part Four

This is it, the finale of the Sasquatch Unleashed audiobook, and it opens with something that isn't in the book at all. I wrote Sasquatch Unleashed as a lifelong skeptic who had never once seen the creature with his own eyes.

Then, in the summer of 2024, that changed. Over the span of two days I saw them three separate times in broad daylight, and on one of those occasions I stood no more than 10 feet away from one of these creatures. So the man reading you this final part is not the same man who wrote it, and for me the question at the heart of this whole book is settled in a way it never was on the page. From there, I take on the hardest questions this subject has to offer.

If Sasquatch is real, then where are the bodies, and why has no one ever stumbled across the bones? I walk you through the fossil record, the brutal science of what it actually takes to make a fossil, and why the remains of a large forest primate are exactly what we would expect to be missing. I get into how something that big could stay hidden at all, drawing on the primate behaviors and the lowland gorilla that eluded science for centuries, and I look at what human population growth and the loss of wild land mean for a creature trying to stay out of sight.

Then I put on the old hat I wore for 16 years in law enforcement, and I put Sasquatch on trial. I lay out the kinds of evidence a courtroom actually accepts, from physical and documentary to testimonial and digital, and I ask whether the case would hold up in front of a jury. After that, I wade out into the strangest, murkiest water in this whole world, the high strangeness, the UFO connections, the cloaking, the portals, the habituation stories like Janice Carter's, and the material I have always trusted the least, and I hold it up against the standard that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I close the book by asking why we chase monsters in the first place, and then, at long last, I stop circling and give you my answer to the only question that ever really mattered.

Is Sasquatch real? Thank you for walking this entire Odyssey with me, from the first campfire story to the final verdict.

If you'd like your own autographed copy of Sasquatch Unleashed: The Truth Behind the Legend, or any of my five books, head over to the store at ParanormalWorldProductions.com and click the button right here in the show notes. Keep your eyes on the tree line, and I'll see you out there.

Bigfoot DNA With Dr. Todd Disotell

In this episode of The Bigfoot Inquiry, Brian and Dr. Hogan Sherrow sit down with anthropologist and DNA expert Dr. Todd Disotell for a blunt, science-driven conversation about the search for genetic evidence of Bigfoot.Dr. Disotell has examined hundreds of alleged Sasquatch samples over the years, yet says he has never encountered DNA that supports the existence of an unknown North American primate.

He discusses a recent UK eDNA case reportedly containing traces of Old World monkey and great ape DNA, explaining why the claim is unusual, why the raw sequencing data matters, and why extraordinary results must be verified by credible independent laboratories.

The conversation also takes a hard look at the Melba Ketchum DNA study, including the problems with its methods, interpretation, and publication. Dr. Disotell explains what laboratories actually mean when a sample is labeled “failed,” “unknown,” or “inconclusive,” and why none of those terms should be presented as proof of an unidentified creature.

They also explore the real promise and limitations of environmental DNA, the constant risks of contamination and weak chain of custody, and the collection standards required for a sample to survive scientific scrutiny.

The discussion closes with a broader examination of why many scientists avoid the Bigfoot subject, how sensational claims damage legitimate research, and why eyewitness testimony can be shaped by misidentification, expectation, and the fallibility of memory.

Bigfoot In The UK

In this episode, Brian welcomes Steve from the UK to share the unsettling roadside encounter he experienced near Hibaldstow, North Lincolnshire, in July 1994.

While driving home after a night of DJ work, Steve watched a heavily built, hair-covered creature—standing roughly six and a half feet tall—cross directly in front of his car before disappearing into the roadside brush.

The creature moved with remarkable speed and an unusually smooth, fluid gait. As it passed through the headlights, Steve noticed straw or dried grass tangled in its matted hair and caught a brief profile of a pale gray or white face with an almost glossy appearance. Moments later, he heard three strange sounds from the darkness that reminded him of a dog making a reverse-sneezing noise.Fearing ridicule, Steve kept the encounter private for 28 years.

He eventually began speaking about it after discovering similar reports from the surrounding area, along with stories of missing livestock and old mining tunnels beneath the local countryside.

Steve also discusses several other unexplained experiences from his life, including an apparent childhood premonition of his grandmother’s death, a cigar-shaped UFO he witnessed from an airplane in 1999, and disturbing activity inside a former home.

Although he remains open-minded about the paranormal, Steve believes the creature he encountered was a living, flesh-and-blood animal.Steve also shares details about Haunted Waves, the paranormal radio show he co-hosts with Claire on Humber Wave Radio.

Bigfoot & The Gold Mine

Fred from The Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube channel is back, and you can see more of Fred’s stuff by clicking the link below. In this episode, Fred shares two unsettling accounts of suspected “hairy man” encounters from the remote Alaskan wilderness.

The first involves Don and Tina, a couple hired to operate a gold mine along the Koyukuk River. During a stretch of heavy rain, large rocks began slamming into their loud mining equipment from somewhere beyond the tree line. Don briefly chased a dark figure into the woods, while Tina later witnessed an enormous humanoid silhouette moving nearby.

The situation escalated the following morning when the figure appeared dangerously close to their camp. Tina fired a shotgun into the air, and the couple retreated to their cabin before seeking help from a neighboring miner. He revealed that he had experienced similar harassment in the area. Despite the mine producing good gold, Don and Tina decided the money was not worth the risk and quit. Fortunately, the owner treated them fairly and paid them for their work.

Fred then rshares Daniel’s experience while trout fishing along the Tickchik River roughly twenty-five years ago. While waiting near a thick stand of willows, Daniel became overwhelmed by the feeling that something was watching him. After firing warning shots, he spotted a tall, black humanoid silhouette standing near the brush. Moments later, the figure crashed through the vegetation and disappeared.

Sasquatch Unleashed: Part Three

Part Three of the Sasquatch Unleashed  is the one where I stop weighing other people's evidence and put my own convictions to the test. I take you deep into the British Columbia backcountry, seventeen miles down a logging road with no cell signal, on a week-long expedition with the controversial researcher Todd Standing.

This is the same man I had called a hoaxer, out loud, on my own show, and I went out there to find out whether I had him wrong the whole time. I walk you through the whole trip, from the ice baths in the glacial river and the tree breaks along the road, to the trackway I found pressed into the moss, the tree knocks that rolled in out of the dark, and the night the sky over our camp did something I still can't explain. I share the interviews that got me there too, my long conversations with survival expert Les Stroud and with Todd himself, and the wave of backlash I came home to, gorilla gloves and all. From the field, I turn the lens around onto us. I dig into the two forces that quietly wreck this whole subject, pareidolia and misidentification.

Why good, honest people see figures in the shadows that were never there and hear words and howls in nothing but random noise. Drawing on my sixteen years in law enforcement, I lay out how fragile eyewitness memory really is, how a leading question can plant a detail that was never seen, and what it actually takes to separate a genuine encounter from a trick of the mind. Then I close the part on the tool this entire field lives or dies on.

The scientific method. I trace it from Francis Bacon and Isaac Newton to Karl Popper and the idea of falsifiability, make the case for citizen scientists getting out in the woods the right way, and take on the single biggest enemy of honest research, confirmation bias. Because it would have been easy to come home from Radium a believer, and just as easy to come home a cynic.

The harder thing, the honest thing, is to sit in the middle with the evidence and refuse to lie to yourself in either direction.

Bigfoot Bumped Our Tent

Brian welcomes Mary Ann and Levi back to the show, and Mary Ann’s husband, Robert, joins us for his first ever appearance on any podcast. In this episode, Brian sits down with BFRO expedition leader Mary Ann, her husband Robert, and investigator Levi to talk about a spring expedition on private property in northern Missouri.

Mary Ann shares more about her work leading BFRO expeditions across Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and soon Illinois, while the group walks through a weekend that began with knocks, shadow reports, and possible footsteps before escalating into something far more intense. One participant using thermal equipment believed she saw tall heat signatures near a pond and ravine area, later estimated to be between six and a half and seven feet tall.

As the weekend continued, strange activity seemed to build around camp. Then, during a severe storm on Saturday night, Mary Ann and Robert experienced repeated impacts against their tent, including something pushing against the phone pocket and swiping across the front of the tent. At the same time, Levi was watching from his rooftop tent and saw a large outline near the barn blocking reflected light. Moments later, he spotted eye shine before the figure ran into a nearby field.Although the group did not find clear tracks afterward, they did notice soil compaction in the area.

Brian, Mary Ann, Robert, and Levi also discuss the possibility of bad weather being used as cover, recurring equipment problems, additional high-strangeness observations from the property, and what these kinds of field experiences can teach investigators.

Sasquatch Unleashed: Part Two

Part Two of the Sasquatch Unleashed audiobook picks the historical trail right back up, and the encounters only get stranger. I take you to a cabin near Mount St. Helens in nineteen twenty-four, where five miners spent a night under a hail of stones from what they swore were apemen, the story that gave Ape Canyon its name.

I walk through Albert Ostman's claim that a family of these creatures carried him off in the British Columbia backcountry and held him for six days. I read you William Roe's sworn affidavit, word for word, about the day he watched a creature strip leaves from a branch with its teeth and couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger.

And I share the Ruby Creek incident, where a family came home to a fifty-five-gallon barrel of salted fish torn open and flung across the yard, told through Ivan Sanderson's own account of sitting down with them years later. From there I turn the lens away from the deep woods and onto our living rooms.

I trace how Bigfoot went from a figure of dread to a household name, from Leonard Nimoy and In Search Of, to the robot Bigfoot on The Six Million Dollar Man, to the gentle giant of Harry and the Hendersons, and on to Finding Bigfoot and a parade of beer commercials and mattress ads. Then I ask a harder question that I've wrestled with for years. Has all that pop-culture saturation actually driven the number of reported sightings up?

I get honest about the power of suggestion, the way memory bends, and how the very shows that spread the word can also shape what people think they saw.

And then we get into the ugly side of this whole thing. The hoaxes. I lay out the Ray Wallace wooden-stomper story and why it doesn't hold up as the explanation for everything, and the spectacular collapse of the Rick Dyer Georgia hoax, the freezer, the rubber suit, and the whole circus around it. I dig into why people fake this stuff in the first place, from attention and pranks to money, belonging, the thrill of the con, and the darker pull of narcissism.

Because if we're ever going to find the truth out there, we have to be willing to name the fakes for what they are

Bigfoot With Tails?

Fred from The Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube channel is back with a disturbing collection of Alaska “Hairy Man” encounters and a message for anyone carrying a story they have been afraid to tell. He urges people to love their families, check on their people, and stop suffering in silence, especially when fear of ridicule keeps them from talking about something they cannot explain. Fred makes it clear that witnesses can reach out anonymously, without judgment, and that sometimes simply being heard is the first step toward making sense of what happened. The episode begins with Kathy’s unsettling account from the Kenai Peninsula in the 1990s.

What started as a strange disturbance near a neighbor’s home turned into something far more disturbing when the neighbor found his rabbits headless and neatly lined up with no visible blood. His chickens were gone, firewood had been thrown impossible distances, and a nailed board had been ripped loose and dragged away with enough force to leave him convinced that something powerful had come through the property.

The neighbor did not call it an animal. He called it a monster.Fred then shares a more recent report from Walter, Bernice, and their adult son Michael, who were traveling near the Taylor Highway close to Mosquito Fork when they encountered three enormous beings, each estimated around nine feet tall, with what appeared to be tails. As the family tried to document what they were seeing, their cameras and phones reportedly died without warning. Moments later, rocks began striking their toy hauler, and the situation escalated until Michael fired a shot so they could get away.

The episode also includes another chilling encounter from the Matanuska River area, where a camping trip was interrupted by screams, a foul odor, strange guttural chatter, and the sight of a large upright figure moving near camp. The experience was so frightening that the witness stopped camping altogether afterward.

Through each account, Fred returns to the same point: Alaska is full of stories people have kept quiet for too long, and those witnesses deserve a place to speak without being mocked, dismissed, or ignored.

Bigfoot's First 4th of July

Every Fourth of July, the woods empty out before the first shell ever goes up. The deer vanish. The dogs hide. And somewhere back in the deep hollows, something older than the town itself moves its family over the ridge, same as it has for generations, because it knows our schedule better than we do.

This year, the schedule changed. In this special holiday episode, I'm telling you a Fourth of July story unlike anything I've done on this show. When the little town of Turner Gap adds a preview night to its bicentennial fireworks show, two creatures end up alone in a black mountain gorge with the sky coming apart over their heads. One is an eight-year-old girl named June, who ran from the campground when the booms started because her ears don't have a volume knob.

The other is something young and half-grown that has never heard fireworks in its life and believes the sky itself is breaking open. What happens between them over one long night, a washed-out ledge above a forty-foot drop, a counting trick a father taught his daughter about thunder, and a search party whose dogs refuse to go up the gorge, is the kind of story that starts as a missing child report and ends as something this county still doesn't have words for. It's told the way I got it, from tracks, from sign, from a deputy's report nobody made her write, and from a spiral notebook where a mother wrote down every strange, plain, devastating thing her daughter said at bedtime for months afterward.

And yes, it comes back around to flags and freedom before it's done. Because a country that shoots off the sound of war one night a year to celebrate not being at war ought to be big enough to remember everybody that sound lands on. The old soldier in his basement. The dog in the bathtub. The girl with the orange ear muffs. And whatever stands on a burn scar two ridges out, watching our flag have its birthday.

Grab a seat by the fire. Count the booms. And leave a little quiet out for whoever needs it.

The Bigfoot Truth Tax

Filmmaker Darcy Weir joins the show for a wide-ranging conversation about fringe documentaries, Sasquatch evidence, UFO disclosure, hidden history, and the price that comes with challenging popular narratives. Darcy looks back on his early work covering Philip Schneider and the underground-base claims, then traces the path that led him into cryptids and Sasquatch through films like The Unwonted Sasquatch and Sasquatch Among Wild Men.

The conversation explores Darcy’s habit of tackling strange subjects before they break into the mainstream, from UFO secrecy to global “wild man” traditions and the possibility of surviving relic hominids. He and the host discuss the evidence that keeps serious researchers in the conversation, including the work of Grover Krantz and Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum, while also looking at why official acknowledgment of Sasquatch could create economic, legal, land-use, and public-safety problems for institutions that would rather leave the subject alone.

They also get into the fractures inside the Bigfoot community itself, from hoaxers and sensational claims to the growing divide between researchers who focus on physical evidence and those who push paranormal, portal-based, or interdimensional explanations. The Patterson–Gimlin film comes up again as a flashpoint, along with renewed debate surrounding Capturing Bigfoot and the long shadow that famous footage still casts over the entire field. From there, the discussion widens into the overlap between Bigfoot culture and the UFO world, where serious questions are often buried under hype, ego, entertainment, and claims that outrun the evidence.

Darcy shares his perspective on recent alien-related statements from lawmakers, the public’s hunger for disclosure, and the way fringe communities punish anyone who questions the story they want to believe. That backlash, Darcy argues, is part of the “truth tax” paid by people who are willing to follow the evidence even when it costs them support, access, or popularity.

The Bigfoot Inquiry: Dogman On The Farm?

Brian and Dr. Hogan Sherrow return to The Bigfoot Inquiry after some time away, opening the conversation with a more personal tone as Hogan reflects on the recent loss of his brother and Brian catches listeners up on travel, book signings, and community events. Brian shares stories from a successful two-day appearance at the Expedition Bigfoot Museum in Blue Ridge, Georgia, along with a free Bigfoot town hall in Lenoir, North Carolina that drew a crowd of fifty people and sparked bigger ideas for future gatherings, including the possibility of more public events and even a festival. Hogan also points listeners toward the Southern Oregon Bigfoot Experience in Cave Junction as another example of the community continuing to grow beyond the usual online debates.

From there, the episode moves into stranger territory as Brian and Hogan revisit Brian’s recent interview with explorer Adam Davies, including Davies’s account of a portal and red-eyed entities. That discussion opens the door to a broader debate over habituation claims, extraordinary encounters, and how researchers should respond when stories include cloaking, telepathy, shapeshifting, and other claims that push far beyond ordinary Bigfoot reports.

Brian reads through a message from “Kevin,” who invites him to a property in Morganton and describes a series of experiences that raise both curiosity and concern. Hogan urges caution, grounding the conversation in the idea that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, especially when an invitation involves unknown people, private property, and claims that cannot be easily tested.

The most personal part of the episode comes when Hogan shares a story from his own family. His brother believed he had seen something Dogman-like in the woods on the family farm late at night, describing glowing eyes and a presence that left a lasting impression on him.

Hogan approaches the account with care, balancing respect for his brother’s experience with the fact that no physical evidence was ever recovered. It becomes a conversation not just about Dogman, Bigfoot, and the unexplained, but about grief, memory, family stories, and the challenge of taking strange claims seriously without abandoning critical thinking.

Brian also talks about Backwoods Bigfoot Stories, his audiobook-style narration work, and what listeners can expect from upcoming episodes, including a future discussion on cherry-picked facts, Missing 411, and the way selective storytelling can shape belief.

Sasquatch Unleashed: Part One

In this first installment of the Sasquatch Unleashed audiobook, I take you all the way back to where my obsession began. The pine woods of north Georgia, the campfire stories my dad's hunting buddies traded after dark, and the tale of a ginseng hunter named Mr. Brown who came face to face with something eight feet tall and reeking of death in Jenkins Gap.

I share my own encounter too, the day at twelve years old when something I still can't explain ran me out of the woods and set me on the path that eventually became Sasquatch Odyssey. From there we dig into the real meat of the phenomenon. I walk through the evidence that keeps me in this fight, from the eyewitness accounts and the footprints with their telltale mid-tarsal break to the disputed hair samples, the Sierra Sounds recordings, the Patterson-Gimlin film, the Paul Freeman footage, and the strange partial body cast pulled from a muddy wallow near Mount Adams.

We get into tree breaks and stick structures, what the known great apes actually build, and the deep divide between those of us who see a flesh-and-blood animal and those who chase high strangeness. I lay out my two best suspects from the fossil record, Gigantopithecus and Australopithecus, and revisit the crippled tracks that turned up around Bossburg.

Then I carry you into the history that came long before the cameras ever rolled. The indigenous traditions that named this creature across the Pacific Northwest, the early explorers who found giant tracks pressed into the snow, and the chilling account a future president, Theodore Roosevelt, recorded in his own hunting memoir. The story of a trapper named Bauman, and a night in a lonely mountain pass that ended in something no one could explain.

Bigfoot, Red Eyes, and A Portal With Adam Davies

In this episode of Sasquatch Odyssey, Brian welcomes author, explorer, and cryptozoology researcher Adam Davies for a wide-ranging conversation about Bigfoot, strange creatures, and the deeper mysteries that may surround unexplained encounters in the wilderness. Adam shares how childhood loss, a serious leg injury, and a lifelong drive to explore the unknown pushed him toward cryptozoology and into some of the most remote and dangerous places on earth in search of creatures that science has yet to fully explain.

Adam traces the beginning of his North American Bigfoot research to his work with Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum and discusses the investigations that followed across the United States, including powerful experiences in Washington State involving wood knocks, roars, unexplained laughter in the woods, and the controversial campfire photo that continues to spark debate. He also reflects on time spent in the field with researchers including Brian Sykes, Russell Acord, and Thomas Stewart, while offering a candid look at the strengths, weaknesses, and frustrations within modern Bigfoot research.

The conversation takes a much stranger turn as Adam recounts a disturbing multi-night experience at Matthew Johnson’s habituation site, where he says he witnessed a beam of light, a red mist, and small black red-eyed entities that appeared to move through or emerge from something he could only interpret as interdimensional. Brian and Adam dig into the uneasy overlap between Bigfoot reports, portal claims, strange lights, red-eyed creatures, and the limits of what witnesses are willing to say publicly.

Adam also challenges parts of the habituation community, especially claims that rely on extraordinary stories without hard evidence, while discussing cognitive priming, witness underreporting, and why many people stay silent after seeing something they cannot easily explain.

He also shares updates on his work with Relic Films, including a dramatic Land Between the Lakes encounter, along with projects like The Vanished and The Awakened. The episode closes with a look at Adam’s books and his upcoming nonfiction release, Ghosts and Beasts, which explores the unsettling territory where cryptids, folklore, and paranormal experiences collide.

This is a must-listen conversation for anyone interested in Bigfoot, cryptozoology, red-eyed entities, wilderness mysteries, portals, strange mist, and the cases that sit just beyond the edge of conventional explanation.

Bigfoot & Bear Spray

Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch is back to share more stories from deep in the wilds of Alaska. In this episode, Fred returns with another firsthand look at life in one of the most remote and unforgiving places on earth, where the line between the known and the unknown can feel dangerously thin.

From isolated stretches of wilderness to strange activity around remote cabins and camps, Fred brings listeners back into the vast Alaskan backcountry, where silence carries weight and every unexplained sound demands attention. His stories offer a rare glimpse into the experiences of those who live, work, and travel in places most people will never see, where encounters with something massive, intelligent, and elusive continue to raise unsettling questions.

Bigfoot Conspiracy?

A man named Dale wrote to me with no subject line and one question: had I ever taken a statement I wasn't allowed to write down. Sixteen years on the job in Atlanta meant that question landed somewhere familiar, so I wrote him back, and what followed was three phone calls and thirty years of a retired ranger's private records read to me out of the drugstore notebooks he'd been keeping since his first season. Dale spent most of his career in the Great Smoky Mountains, with early seasons out west and a few eastern parks along the way.

He started out a skeptic, a hunting-family kid who filed the Bigfoot stuff in the same drawer as ghost lights and panther screams. He agrees with me about ninety percent of the way. No men in black, no federal directive, no coordinated national cover-up. But he wanted to push back on the last ten percent with three decades of receipts, because in his experience reports do get buried, not by conspiracy but by omission, by a supervisor saying write it as a bear, by a busy man deciding a thing is easier to ignore than explain. This episode walks through what he saw and what he was told to do about it. The two backpackers and the rock-throwing at the shelter that got logged as bear activity.

The hunter who watched something walk a ridgeline on two legs and got angry when Dale wouldn't hand him an easy answer. The through-hiker, the scout troop, and the experienced hunter named Pres who watched one work a timber edge through a spotting scope for ten minutes in good light. The screams, the whoops, the wood knocks, the jabbering that broke a grown man because of the pauses. The casts Dale still keeps in his garage, the one he turned in early on that disappeared, the structures and tree breaks and stacked stones he couldn't argue down.

The colleagues who only ever floated it sideways in a truck at the end of a shift, and the one who sat on his own sighting for forty years because a supervisor in the seventies told him he'd finish his career cleaning vault toilets. And the last one. A gray morning, a downed tree across a gated roadbed, and something standing fifty yards up the track that looked back at him over its shoulder and folded into the laurel without a sound. Dale had plaster in the truck.

He'd cast a dozen prints for other people on far less. He looked at the two impressions it left, turned around, and drove down the mountain, and he never told anyone at the Park Service. The man who kept thirty years of records because he couldn't stand watching the truth get left out went and left out his own, and he knew exactly what he was doing while he did it.I still don't believe in the grand conspiracy. Institutions leak, people talk, somebody always wants the credit or the book deal. But Dale moved me on the small version, because the small version isn't a theory. It's just how organizations work, and I watched the same machinery punch the same hole in the same kind of paperwork wearing a different uniform.

The motive never had to be sinister for the record to come out crooked. If you want to know how something stays hidden in plain sight that long, you don't need an agency. You need the most honest man in the woods to decide on his own that some truths cost more than they're worth. He'll keep the secret better than any conspiracy could, for free.
