Bigfoot Orbs & Glowing Eyes In Idaho
In this episode of Sasquatch Odyssey, Brian welcomes Rob from Idaho, whose journey into the world of Bigfoot began with skepticism and eventually led him into field research, BFRO expeditions, unexplained encounters, and questions he never expected to be asking. Rob shares how his perspective began to change after attending BFRO outings, where he encountered unusual evidence that included track casts, a thermal image of something apparently swaying between trees near Bunking Lake, and strange red orbs seen hovering above his vehicle.
One of his most unsettling experiences came during a night at Loon Lake in Idaho’s Payette National Forest.
Rob and a friend noticed a faint yellow light moving low to the ground before catching a brief glimpse of what appeared to be a tall, reddish figure. Soon afterward, a powerful vocalization resembling the famous “Ohio howl” echoed through the area for hours. As the night continued, both men were left with the disturbing feeling that something was following them through the forest.
The conversation also explores other reported Idaho encounters, including sightings around Loon Lake, Priest Lake, Highway 12, and the Payette River Meanders, where witnesses in 2024 reported seeing two large upright figures in broad daylight. Other accounts involve screams, whistles, thrown rocks, unexplained tracks, and activity deep in remote wilderness.
Rob also recounts a trip into the Sawtooth Mountains near Redfish Lake and the surrounding bench lakes, where he witnessed a pulsating ball of light, saw what he describes as a dark brown figure with green eyes near camp, and later heard a distinct whoop from the surrounding forest.
The episode closes with a deeper discussion about one of the biggest divides in Bigfoot research: whether Sasquatch is simply an undiscovered flesh-and-blood primate, possibly connected to something like Gigantopithecus, or whether the stranger reports involving glowing eyes, orbs, portals, and other so-called “woo” phenomena suggest there may be more to the mystery.
Rob also talks about his experience appearing on Finding Bigfoot and how years in the field transformed him from a skeptic into someone convinced that something unexplained is living in the forests of Idaho.
